Federal judges to decide where to consolidate lawsuits accusing Google of Wi-Fi snooping

The Chicago Tribune has reported that a number of class actions against Google have all been consolidated in Calfornia. The lawsuits involve claims that Google is missappropriating personal data when it collects information for Google Maps driving through neighborhoods across the United States. The article which can be read in full by clicking on the link at the start of this post states in part:
At least nine lawsuits seeking class-action status have been filed in the United States so far contending that Google collected fragments of e-mails, Web surfing data and other online information from unencrypted wireless networks as it photographed neighborhoods for its “Street View” Google Maps feature. …
